Examples of Ian's audio projects...

Ian Kennedy's first freelance commission was to create an audio history project called Voices of the Vale at Castle Vale Community Radio for a local regeneration agency, producing a commemorative CD which has since been praised by government minister Lord Rooker (Office of the Deputy Prime Minister).

Voices of the Vale explored the history of Castle Vale (North Birmingham) for Castle Vale Housing Action Trust (2004), in the words of the residents and visitors who have lived through the area's remarkable transformations since the Second World War. Running to half an hour and telling the story continuously and without any narration, 600 copies were produced and distributed and the piece was also made available for download on the internet (click here and scroll down). Ian also designed the sleeve and CD print (left).

Prisons-on-cd-print   IQK was also commissioned to produce an audio CD for the Prisons Service in 2006, 'sexing up' the audio induction for new inmates at HMP Hewell Grange and providing sleeve designs (examples left) as well as CD duplication. The content and voiceovers had already been provided, and IQK boosted the quality, volume and consistency of these while speeding them up and adding a soundtrack including varied percussion beds and sound effects.
