Facilitator and Team Player

Ian is as comfortable slotting into other people's teams as managing his own projects, and has often achieved more as a writer and editor by also helping produce or manage the project. He always brings a thoughtful, rounded perspective to creative and production matters and has played significant roles in teams across radio drama, theatre, and soon film, with award-winning success (left).

Ian says: "I believe that nowadays there's little that can't be produced as well from outside the capital as within, and with funding and equipment easier to come by than ever before, all it'll take is the right attitude and the right team. I'm determined to be at the heart of new creative projects in the West Midlands and beyond, whether that's in radio, film, TV, music and pop videos, and the web."

Some of Ian's teamworking achievements...

• Ian played a key role in building a team of 35 (left) to run award-winning student soap Lenton Boulevard at URN 1350 in the University of Nottingham, including managing the Writing team of up to ten volunteers personally.
• Producing radio drama by inmates of HMP Winson Green for BBC WM.
• Co-producing my innovative Edinburgh Fringe play Haze and taking various roles in the New Matrix Mistero Buffo the following year, with a show that won two awards from Paradise Green Promotions, and again in 2006 with Can't Pay? Won't Pay!.
• Contributions to Quarterly Planning meetings for BBC Asian Network series Silver Street, discussing future developments in the series.
• Contributions to BBC West Midlands Local Advisory Council, advising on BBC programming.
