Ian's work aims to provide intelligent entertainment for all, and his portfolio of new writing includes:
An eyecatching, original and provocative TV sitcom pilot aimed at adult audiences. The series is a satire on the media, politics, corporate ethics, and other crimes. This script has already been passed on to Channel 4's Commissioning Editor for Comedy by her Head of Publicity, and Ian looks forward to whatever feedback or outcomes arise from it.
A feature-length pilot script for a thrilling mainstream television comedy drama series, which aims to be as innovative in production as it is in storytelling, achieving previously impossible originality at previously impossible budgets. The series aims to show how thrilling, dramatic and hilarious a TV drama about 21st Century life can be, without needing to be based around cops, docs, lawyers and the other traditional staples of TV drama.
An intense psychological thriller play for theatre, which Ian has been developing and refining for several years with the benefit of detailed research input from professional psychologists and the police as well as feedback from his established peers.
A pilot for a television comedy drama which aims to be alternately heartbreaking, hilarious, harrowing, and life-affirming - all of which is are natural aspects of its real-world setting and premise. The series is entirely drawn from a combination of real cases to which Ian was a party, attending nearly 200 meetings about safeguarding vulnerable adults in recent years for the NHS, social workers and the police, among other agencies.
