Script Doctor & Story Consultant

As well as furthering his own work, Ian Kennedy has become involved in an increasing number of feature film or television projects for other companies and individuals. To have the benefit of Ian's insight through the Script Reader service at SCRIPT, submit your work through http://scriptonline.net for £50-75 to have your script read and advised upon by Ian. The first of Ian's readings resulted in the following response to SCRIPT: "Would you please be so kind as to pass on my grateful thanks for such excellent analysis and comprehensive advice."

Here are some of the clients that have independently made use of Ian's abilities as a sharp and knowledgeable Script Doctor or Story Consultant.

Goodmedia have been developing their feature film project 'Winds of Fire' since 2005, and in 2008 appointed Ian as their Script Editor. His work on the project has involved:

  • A reformatted and adapted new treatment to better encapsulate and promote the film.
  • Assistance with completing an application to Screen WM which saw its Expression of Interest approved, and consequently received useful feedback with which to move forward.
  • Goodmedia's intention has been to generate the finance to hire Ian to redraft the script, to ready it for promotion to potential investors and producers.

Lightbreeze Productions

Lightbreeze approached Ian to assist with a number of projects in 2007, including their microbudget horror film 'The Weekend'. Ian was appointed as Script Editor on this project, reinventing the storyline with a darker underlying storyline while preserving all of the scenes and visuals which the director favoured, helping to craft a business model which the director has promoted to potential investors since then. Ian also reshaped an idea of the director's into the twisty short film 'By Arrangement', an inventive take on British Asian arranged marriages, which was described by a colleague of Ian's as "one of the best" short film scripts he'd seen.

Fünf Media

In 2009 Fünf Media announced Ian as a consultant and workshop coordinator on their Afro-Caribbean teen drama series project.

Emem Enefiok & Bingwa To
